The reason for which I chose to present Line on the cover of MA YECH is first of all my deep appreciation for her.
As her husband, I am very proud of her involvement in all the activities she engages in. I am grateful to her for her non-stop volunteering activities in several simultaneous fields and especially for her enthusiasm to always push beyond the limits. Every day I thank God for bringing Line into my life. I never forget that she is also the loving mother of my children and my dear companion, always efficient and skillful.
I would like to share with you a massage she has recently sent to her (very valued) Krav Maga instructor. This message is also characteristic of Line:
"I will always remember what motivated me the most to practice Krav Maga.
A short while after the Sukkot holiday 2015, I took a crucial decision to engage in sport, with a particular interest in Krav Maga. So I started looking for a Krav Maga club that offers this kind of activity to women.
The receptionist-secretary of the first club I visited (an Israeli club in Ra'ananna) stared at me from head to toe, like I was sort of a Martian!
Obviously, I don't have the looks of Bar Rephaeli and also, I am much older than her….but still! What a stupid, impolite and offensive welcome. All that was apparently needed for me to turn away and give up, but instead, this reaction made me resort all my forces to immediately call another club in Ra'ananna: "Israeli Fighting".
This time, on the phone, I made it clear that I wasn't 20 years old anymore…actually I was 61 and that I had never done any kind of sports for more than 15 years.
My interlocutor's (her current instructor – R.N) immediate reply surprised me a lot after that arctic welcome I got at the first club I had visited. "It doesn’t matter at all…" he said to me.
I will always remember the feeling I had hearing these words.
I don't know if you watch the American TV series "LOST" in which one of the main characters (John Lock) repeats in several occasions: "…and above all do not tell me that I can't do something".
Suddenly, this sentence had a whole new meaning for me.
The instructor invited me to join a free trial lesson and 2 days later, on Tuesday, October 20th I had my first practice… and never skipped even one practice since!
So happy about my first test, I officially received my yellow belt (on July, 19th, 2016), exactly 9 months after my first practice!
The instructor was you.
Thank you Amatsia for accompanying me and especially for encouraging me to always want to win!
Thank you Amatsia for your seriousness, your professional attitude and determination.
Thanks to you this sport has become for me a true passion and it motivates me to continue Krav Maga next year, even with more enthusiasm and persistence." Line
